Only 2 defensive starters: Harry and Bynum.

We'll see how that plays out.

When the narrative changes from "...he's an important member of the Vikings team, and we're working to find a way to keep him here for years to come" to silence on the home front combined with heavy rumors regarding trade calls...eh...we know every GM will basically answer the phone on essentially any player, but it doesn't mean that the team is intending to let Hunter go.

On the other hand, if Hunter has asked to assess his value and maybe wants to play elsewhere...well, keeping someone looking to leave is rarely a good idea.

My question is whether or not he wants to be a VIking.

Don't think whether he wants to be a Viking or not has anything to do with it.  If the money is enough he wants to be a Viking if it isn't he doesn't want to be a Viking.

I don't know if he is butthurt about the contract he signed or what the issue is. He got some of a pass because of injuries but at some point time is up on that. Maybe his agent is kind of a jerk. Who knows. I just want it over and done with.

I don’t know what you mean by butthurt.  Butthurt is like Diggs who signed a contract
and then forced his way out after two years.
Hunter is in the last year of his contract and good players usually get
extended before their last season.  The
player wants to get more guaranteed money because an injury could wipe it all
away and the team doesn’t want them to test free agency.  Hunter is being a consummate professional
here because this is the time when he’s supposed to be negotiating and that’s
all that’s happening here.  If for some
reason nothing gets done and he chooses to sit out regular season games rather
than honoring his contract, that’s when it moves to butt hurt territory for me.
His valuation is $5M more than what he's earning.

Oops.    Brain freeze.    Hope he stays but at this point it's anyone's guess what might happen.

I think there is the romanticized limbo of what he was and what he can be that is giving him a pass. If he wants to stay and work it out great, if not then see ya. I get that he should be getting paid more than the contract he signed but I wonder how far apart the two sides are. I would like to see what Flores has him do though because Donatell basically neutered him.
