I don't think JJ is gonna resign with the Vikings.

I hope he retires a Viking, but with how things have gone down the last 3 years, I have to wonder if he is gonna bolt after 2024.
Why?  They have built around him and made him the face of the franchise.  They are on the come up if that defense takes a better shape this year and should be in the playoffs again.

I like KJO, but im not seeing #2 WR.  He would have to improve his ball skills and contested catch rate.  To me he has produced when allowed to run open in the scheme especially from the slot.

If a person defines a #2 receiver as one of the 33rd
best through 64th best receivers, KJO is clearly in that group
despite being the 4th target on our team.

  • Receptions:  KJO is ranked 42nd (54th
    out of all positions)
  • Yards:  KJO is ranked 48th (57th
    out of all positions)
  • TDs:  KJO is tied for 27th (34th
    out of all positions)

makes sense i guess.  60% of his snaps in the slot. Would be interesting to see his production outside. Apparently the vikes dont see him as a #2, otherwise, I doubt addison is our #1 pick and KJO would be extended already.

Agreed. He's not a #2. If he was, they wouldn't have drafted Addison where they did. KOC even said on Draft day on his pick, 'That's a Day 1 starter'. You'll see the difference when he's back and healthy.

What is your definition of a #2 and how many teams have someone
who qualifies as a #2?  Like is a #2, an
idealized thing that everyone is striving for but half the teams don’t have or
are there 15-20 something receivers that produce less than KJO but are more #2
than him?  In my mind a slot receiver is a starter now.

I think KJO could “start” on most teams, but as
a team that is trying to be an elite offense without an elite QB, it would have
been a pretty big risk to not replace Thielen, as you’re one injury away from
struggling hard on offense and having KJO as your #3 option is huge.

KJ played a pretty big role last year with very limited opportunities.   He was very instrumental in the comeback against the Colts,  in fact we dont win that game if it wasnt for him.  He really seemed to be finding a role in the offense those last 5 games or so.
