OT: Don’t Look Up (Film)
#1
Just finished watching “Dont Look Up” wonderful dark comedy, and yet perhaps one of the most poignant statements about our culture today.

Whatever your view on politics, it mocks our priorities, pop culture, the power of the media, influence of the wealthy and social media.

...Of course I also enjoyed Bobcat Goldtwait’s “God Bless America” (So Im not exactly quite right in the head)

Yeah, I watched it a few nights ago. Sadly a lot more on point than satire. I found myself irritated and defeated after watching it.

Watched it last night. It's fun and funny but I wish it had gone a little further than it did.

Yes, our media, politics, popular culture and inaction on climate change are all worthy of ridicule, but it doesn't comment much on something almost as dangerous: the consenting, nearly enthusiastic destruction of democracy in America and around the world.
