Replying to
#Titans GM Jon Robinson said Ryan Tannehill is vaccinated, which means he can only be forced to isolate because of symptoms or a positive test (not close contact alone). Vaccinated individuals who test positive can return with two negative tests 24 hours apart, no minimum wait.

Tennessee Titans now have nine players and coaches who have tested positive, including QB Ryan Tannehill and HC Mike Vrabel, per sources.

The NFL has already implemented "enhanced mitigation protocol" targeting teams with COVID clusters (e.g. #Titans), working with the union to reimplement daily testing, masking, distancing, etc. Sills says they've seen clusters, but no outbreaks with uncontrolled, ongoing spread.

Sills says "almost all" positive cases across the NFL have been the Delta variant, confirmed by genomic sequencing. Very different disease, symptom profile, transmissibility, spread. But says vaccinated individuals have had very mild upper respiratory illness, shorter duration.

Ferazani says the NFL has been pushing for mandatory vaccinations for players and still is. "We would still love to see that mandate go into effect tomorrow." Current player vaccination rate is almost 93%. That means around 200 players leaguewide not vaccinated.Show this thread

With Delta it’s going to be the norm. I read a study the other day where the Pfizer vaccine was estimated to be only effective about 40% of the time and Moderna about 70% of the time at keeping people from having a positive test. The good news is the vaccines have been very good at keeping cases mild, with severe cases or fatal cases being very rare. It didn’t have J&J data estimates.

What's the definition of a "cluster" and an "outbreak".  Are these well defined terms or is the NFL going to use whichever one is appropriate to meet their marketing needs on any given day?

Asked if any players were coming off the Reserve COVID-19 list, Mike Vrabel says "Not that I'm aware of." That would mean Ryan Tannehill, among others, remains sidelined. #Titans
