What do you think so far?
#1
of the 3 pre-season games vs 4?
of the gap between PS game 3 and start of regular season?

I am good with both of these to be honest....

Totally fine with it. One less game for a catastrophic injury and garbage football. And that gap is fine. I'm fine with both as well.

I am fine with it.  I think the gap is actually a good thing though I question whether the Vikes have a coach that can fully take advantage of it.

To be honest, I don’t think 4 games vs 3 really changes
things too much for the majority of the players.  I think it just gives you less game tape on
developing players.  If your coach thinks
the starters need X number of minutes of playing time to get ready, they’ll make
that happen regardless of whether there’s 3 or 4 games.  I also don’t think they’re really utilizing
preseason games in a way that addresses a lot of my concerns.  I think more games would be better for Kubiak
in the sense of him figuring out his booth vs ground positioning, but it’s not really
going to help him be a better gameplanner, since they’re not doing gameplans.  I think there’s a lot of subtle things that
we probably should be working on that we aren’t that will lead to a slow
offensive start to the season, but I doubt 3 vs 4 games is going to change
that.

With teams holding joint practices and scrimmages during the week, the pre season games became even more meaningless this year.  Starters did not play as much as teams felt were getting the work they needed during the week.  The joint scrimmages have the advantage of being able to put red jerseys on QBs and even other skilled players reducing the risk of injury over the pre season games.  The pre season games have never been riveting performances, but I do not ever remember them as being as dry as they were this year.  I guess they hold value for fringe players like Rose, who had the chance to really shine with extended playing time.
