We are a long ways away from the days of selling off 30 year old cases of Aqua Velva.

I guess that answers the 12 million dollar question. So Reiff stays at LT, Cleveland at RG. Vikings just need the LG...and i'm guessing they now know who they're going to cut, extend and restructure in order to get under the cap.

Based on this, I gotta believe he's in the 2021 plans. I guess they realize that LTs don't grow on trees.

Well that's something anyway after they lowballed previously. I felt bad that he missed that incentive. One less thing to worry about. It was the right thing to do by Reiff.

I don't know if it necessarily does. Regardless of keeping/cutting Reiff they were always going to give him the additional $1M at soem point since he had achieved the incentive until he contracted COVID. Its a measure of good faith and paints a positive picture for the organization/ownership group.

This is also not a new $1M. They took $1M from his 2021 base salary and paid it out now. Cap hit still is $14.95M in 2021 but dead money increases to $3.2M. So there is still a $11.75M benefit in moving on.

Not guaranteeing he is going to be cut/traded by any means. Just that the true contract discussion hasn't happened yet. There is 0 chance Reiff is back on a 1 year $14.95M cap hit.

Hmmm...so maybe this was done just to get him the $1M? And it doesn't necessarily mean they put more money/years into it?

Ownership gestures like this harken me back to Red McCombs and Gary Woods...
