Yup, thanks to the sacrifice these guys/gals/families make.

Lots and lots of service history in our family...Mostly Navy, some guys who fought on the ground in Europe in WW2 as well...

My FIL drove those amphibious vehicles that dropped troops on the beaches in the Pacific Theatre during the big war too. Would never talk about it though.

The veterans don’t like to talk about the bad.  My dad was a Marine in the Pacific and  only talked about the funny stuff in boot camp, training, or New Zealand.

He was 95 when one day he let it slip that he remembered standing on he deck of  the Navy ship watching them bombard the Marianas Islands.

i quit asking combat veterans questions because it was too painful.

my dad and brother both Marines. My bro retired as a Colonel.  Couple tours in Iraq, (Fallujah), Afghanistan, Gulf war, etc.  

Thanks to all vets out there whenever / wherever you served
