Been wondering this for months

This song has been everywhere, but the question remains just who is this "new man on the Minnesota Vikings." Diggs is on the case...

'This is Green Bay, man': WIXX edits Vikings references out of Lizzo's 'Truth Hurts'Kendra MeinertGREEN BAY - If only it were that easy.
WIXX-FM has made the Minnesota Vikings disappear — for about 3 minutes anyway.
The Green Bay radio station liked what it heard from the Lizzo song “Truth Hurts” ... until it got to the chorus: “Fresh photos with the bomb lighting/New man on the Minnesota Vikings.”
When you’re the home of Packers Radio Network game-day broadcasts, that’s not going to fly, so WIXX made the decision to edit out all the Vikings references, not unlike it has done in the past for songs with profanity. In Green Bay, you can make the argument “Vikings” is just another dirty word.
[Image: 39a18549-8e4a-4282-b897-ae864422c8ea-Get...&auto=webp]As a professional courtesy, WIXX contacted Lizzo’s label, Atlantic Records, to let them know it would be making that adjustment without compromising the beat or rhythm of the song.

“They kind of chuckled,” said WIXX music director Otis Day. “They didn’t seem to fully understand the reason we couldn’t play it. ‘Why can’t you play it?’ ... Because this is Green Bay, man.”
In addition to game-day broadcasts, WIXX also does weekly interviews with the Packers head coach. Evening on-air personality Jayson Slade also happens to be the game-day entertainment host at Lambeau Field. So you can see how a song that repeatedly references the NFL rivals in purple and gold in a city synonymous with green and gold could make for some unwanted radio noise.

“I really think if the reverse was true, Minneapolis would be doing the same thing,” Day said. Would KDWB-FM play a song that mentions the Packers five times in a single song? Probably not, he said.
Atlantic Records was ultimately “cool with it” when it came to the adjustment, Day said. The edited version will still register airplay spins, which is what labels are most interested in.
WIXX started sprinkling the song in during the last couple of weeks and has been receiving a great response from it, Day said. It goes into regular rotation this week.
"Truth Hurts," an ode to self-love after a relationship ends, was originally released in 2017 but has taken off since it was featured in a key dance scene in the Gina Rodriguez romantic comedy “Someone Great,” which premiered on Netflix in April.
Lizzo is a Detroit native but lived in Minneapolis for five years before relocating to Los Angeles in 2016. Prince was one of her first celebrity fans.
Listeners who hear “Truth Hurts” on WIXX will be able to tell something has been edited out. They’ll catch just the “M” of “Minnesota” and “S” of “Vikings.” Day said the station did toy with the idea of slipping in a “Go Pack Go” instead but decided against it.
“The effect is almost a subtle bleep you,” Day said.
With the Packers’ Sept. 15 home opener against the Vikings just three months away, it’s never too early to stoke the rivalry fires
