If Minnesota finishes as  the 4,5,6 seed , then the #3 seed nfc east champion will have lost head to head to the Vikings.

The Vikings swept the NFC East.

 That doesn't make much sense.

Theres likely a scenario similar to this every year,  but that's why they created the wild card in the first place.  The crazy one are teams with better records against winning opponents not making the playoffs and teams that edge them out by beating a bunch of weak teams.  

There is no perfect system.

Kinda is what it is. Win your division or pray for a Wildcard and getting hot on the road.
