No,  I think he was trying to leave it where only Rudolph would have a tiny chance at making the catch while at the same time making sure he didnt give the D any opportunity at all to make a play on it.

I think he was trying to get it to Rudy but the defender made him lob it too high.  Rudy made an unbelievable play.

JMO, but I think he was trying to put it where Rudolph makes a great play or it goes harmlessly out of bounds. 

Zimmer mentioned in his presser that KC had some 'good throwaways'.
