I so wanted that as a boy. Being a astronaut was on alot of top 5's list for boys in the 60's.  I'm not certain any accomplishments made in space from now on will ever match the national pride we had then. I think we've become so used to technology that even Mars would seem more like...well it's about time then about... Wow what an accomplishment.  Many won't want to admit it but this was also for JFK. He said before the end of that decade we would do it. It could have been 1970 or even 1972. If would have lost something though. Many found even more pride in the fact we kept his word. Final closure for one of the most dramatic decades in our history.

Michael Collins. The seldom mentioned other crew member. Buzz Aldrin and  Neil Armstrong became household names. Michael had to feel like the forgotten Beatle before they got famous. What was his name??
