Any insight as to why the Vikings are taking their sweet time freeing up cap room? Im wondering if they want to do so prior to OTA’s on May 21. If for instance they want Rudolph to take a pay cut, they may not want to risk him suffering an injury where they would be on the hook for $7.65 million.

There really is no rush to create cap room until they want to sign Bradbury which likely will happen just prior to training camp. You're right that an injury during OTA's would be a potential pitfall to waiting but I would run with the assumption they are going to be retaining the players currently on the roster. So if an injury happens now it could also happen down the road.
