"His return would definitely be a good sign for Minnesota’s offensive line depth. But re-signing Jones shouldn’t prevent the Vikings from going after some talented young blockers during the first few rounds of the upcoming 2019 draft."

Phew.

Why...so they can not use him 2 years in a row?

Who decides who plays?

I personally believe it's the O-Line Coach and OC telling the HC who they want to roll with and the HC usually signs off unless he's an OC/HC like Reid or Gruden.

Stefanski didn't decide not to play Jones. D-Flop and the Wonder Twins that succeeded Sporano did. When Kevin took over it was way too late to start shuffling Starters.

Dennison and Kubiak weren't the ones who kept Jones and Isisdora on the bench and banished Gossett to the PS.

How about we give the new OC and his very experienced new coaches some benefit of the doubt?

Because it's the Vikings oline and on their how many OCs and line coaches on the last decade and they still suck
...year after year,  coach after coach,  the results have been the same.  Sorry if I am getting sick of watching the same show expecting a different ending because a few characters are played by a different actor.

Well...  teams need depth, Jimmy.  :-D

Jones lost the C battle to some dude on the Giants, which is why he was available for a late round pick.

That seemed like strictly a depth move since Elflein wasn't ready to play Week 1. I don't think the Vikings traded for him to be a regular starter.
