How shapeshifter Bill Belichick has beaten a league built for parity
#11
There is something to the Pat's attitude of not turning on themselves or their coach when things get rocky.  They go through injuries/free-agency/on and off field distractions like every other team.  But they still buy into the overall system.
Pittsburgh on the other hand has lost one prima-donna player to hold-out and are fighting to keep another disgruntled player on their roster.  Good luck with that.  Don't think I'll see them playing next February.

This is how:

This allows you to be innovative, creative and whatever else you want to do.
Belichick has gone 13-6 (.684) in 19 games without Brady at quarterback for the Patriots.

Zim in 5 years is .594

2017 his best win %, He did not know if the QB that just played in a winning game,
was going to start next week.
Zimmer went 12-4 with Case Keenum as a starter, so not sure stats are going to tell the story you want. This included a playoff victory.

No Brady and you don't have the legend of Bill. Having said that, he's an amazing coach.
That was my point, Mikes best QB in 5 years was a guy who, he wasn't sure was going to be the starter week to week.
Mike felt the 1st rounder should be the starter. Case started 16 games if you include the 2 playoff games, ended up
with over 4100 yards in those 16 starts, This year Kirk is worshiped because he ended up with over 4000 yards.

Bill only played Tom because Bledsoe got injured, Bill was smart enough to stay with the guy winning.
Tom did nothing in 2001 to make anyone believe he was going to own all the records before he retires.
2001- 2800 yards 18 TD 12 INT,
2002 was no better, they actually only won 9 games, Bill was smart enough to realize it was not
because of the 6 RD QB, and stuck with him, the rest is historical.

If They would have kept Case and only won 8 games this year, who would get the blame?
Not sure if you are trying to equate Case to Brady, but that theory doesn't hold much water.
Case played admirably, but general consensus was he played above his level.  He got lucky more than he got good.  Many QBs have a memorable season, Brady has a couple.

You don't throw for over 4100 yards by being lucky.
Had Case matched Kirks 606 attempts he would have  had over 4000 yards again.(3890)

Lets not for get his #1 WR missed every game after game 8, his Only TE missed every game after game
after game 11, and his #2 WR missed the last 4 games.

I wonder if that had been Adam, Kyle, and Diggs, would Kirk have had the season he did?
I say not a chance.

Lets also not forget Denver won only 5 games in 2017, while MN only lost 3 in 2017.
So Case went to a bad team and they improved,
Kirk went to a team a QB away from a SB, and managed 7 wins against teams with losing records.

Den played
12-4 Chargers twice
12-4 Chiefs twice
11-5 Texans
13-3 Rams
10-6 Hawks
10-6 Ravens
9-6 Steelers

If Kirk had played that schedule, MN would have been 0-9

This is going off Kirks 4-25 career record against teams that end the season with  a winning record.
