Chiefs offensive assistant Childress retiring
Chiefs assistant head coach Brad Childress is retiring.
The ex-Vikings head coach spent the past five years as one of Andy Reid's top assistants in Kansas City. Reid must now replace both "Chilly" and OC Matt Nagy, who has accepted the Bears' head-coaching position. Coaching football since 1978, Childress has been in the NFL since 1999.
He was a Brett Favre mistake away from taking the 2009 Vikings to Super Bowl XLIV.
