Elf on the Shelf
#1
With starting center Pat Elflein
not practicing for the second straight day because of shoulder injury,
the Minnesota Vikings were executing contingency plans on their
offensive line.

While Elflein was limited to a practice observer, Joe Berger
moved to center and practice squad center Cornelius Edison continued to
snap, too, just as he did in Wednesday’s practice. If Berger starts at
center, the Vikings could either use rookie Danny Isidora at right guard or move right tackle Mike Remmers inside and have Rashod Hill play at right tackle.

The Vikings lost starting left guard Nick Easton to a fractured ankle on Saturday night, so Jeremiah Sirles
is taking over that job. It would be just another variation on the
starting offensive line for the Vikings this year. While Easton was the
first season-ending injury on the offensive line, the Vikings have had
numerous different backups get the call to starting duty throughout the
season.

In addition to Elflein not practicing, the Vikings were without DT Shamar Stephen (ankle), LS Kevin McDermott (shoulder) and CB Tramaine Brock (foot).
