I wonder how the never-Favre group would handle this one?

Multiple super bowls for the Vikes.  Drafting offensive lineman with our top picks to continue the dynasty.
Well, let's add up all the rings Burt got us...errr...let's see...carry the 2...

...none.  In that regard, he's a QB that played one very good season and then one tragic, overpaid, dumbass-idea of a season.  I still look back at that era and wince, give me the '98ers any ol' day.

Would I survive a Rodgers-led Vikings era?  Yep...just like I survived the McMahon and Burt Favor times.  However, until picking up one of our arch-nemesis retreads gets us rings, the concept doesn't do much for me.
Yeah, let's add it up.

Two Viking quarterbacks that were drafted by the Vikings won Super Bowls.  Brad Johnson and Tavaris Jackson.  A third, Rich Gannon, was drafted by the Patriots but traded to the Vikings.

The NFL is a business.  Players play where they are drafted.  Some, like Favre and Rodgers, are Hall of Famers that won Super Bowls for our rival.

So you hate them because they were good and played for our rivals.

I don't care about such matters.  The NFL is a business first.  I want a title.  I have been a fan since the early 70s.

I honestly believe only a few therapy sessions are needed to fix you.  Wink

I've been a fan nearly as long, and still don't get the logic.

Burt?  No ring.  McMahon?  Nope.  The aged-retread-QB-carousel got old fast, though Moon was a joy to watch much of the time.

I want the Vikings to break the curse as much as anyone, more than most...but the whole concept of "...if we just had player X..." is babble to me.  Dan Snyder tried that a few times with the Redskins, and they've been as far from rings as the Vikings.

Green Bay's last championship trophy is old enough to attend school, and Burt's ring was more than a decade old by the time he was a Viking.

It takes a whole team, great chemistry, and a fair amount of luck.  There's nothing that guarantees Rodgers would connect with Thielen, Diggs, and Rudolph as well as we'd like...even if it's fun on paper, or on Madden.

Maybe the truth is that, almost as much as a ring, I'd like some years where people aren't guessing at our QB....

You watch, he will void his contract and go to New England.  Brady retires, and Belichick keeps rolling.
