Adam Thielen tied for the lead?
#1
So Friday after work, the trophy wife and I ended up in bustling downtown Whitefish and stopped in the Bulldog (world famous for its restroom "decor" and burgers), for a beer/glass of wine.

It's very much a sports bar, and the American Century golf tourney was on in South Lake Tahoe...I looked up and saw who I thought was Steph Curry holing out...and then they flashed the leader board, and here was Adam Thielen, one of our favorite hometown boys, in 4th place...soon he moved up to a tie for the lead (I guess they used the modified Stableford scoring system?).

At the end of round 1 Friday, Thielen was sitting at 5th place, just ahead of 3-time winner Tony Romo.

Good to see "local boy does good".  It just underscores what good athletes these guys are.

Another "local" Mardy Fish has done quite well in that tourney in the past IIRC.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

...and speaking of Mardy, who's a massive Minnesota Vikings fan, he said he's super stoked to see JJ McCarthy play, thinks he'll be great. Has the state already fallen hard for JJM?

Good athletes, driven, focused, have money and time into getting better.  Hardly fair to the rest of us.  But I probably enjoy my occasional dalliances on the course more than they do.  I am good enough to play (barely) and bad enough I don't get upset.  Enjoy the day, drink a bit, have fun.  That is how I golf.
