One other quick note on this situation that I found interesting. Supposedly, Khamenei has met with those he trusts in developing a succession plan. If it's up to him, there are two people being considered, one his son, and the other the son (I think) of the former leader Khomenei. Evidently that guy is the more moderate of the two and the one that the current leader seems to be in favor of. Although he is more moderate in terms of bluster, he would be more favored by the people of Iran but still radical enough to be acceptable to Khamenei. I found that quite interesting.
