I'd say Rams, Vikings, 49ers are the top 3... All have young innovative HCs who have developed QBs.

Who have McVay and KOC developed? RG3 had a great year and then busted hard. Cousins was perennially mid. Goff needed KOC to whisper in his ear presnap what was happening and got traded when he couldn’t run the offense normally after teams figured that out. It took the Lions to make him shine. KOC had one year of good Darnold, before moving on. We’re not giving him credit for Passtronaut are we? He had like 2 games of chaos, before we moved on.

I think they’re both good at running teams, and have good winning percentages and the like, but I just don’t get where the evidence is to back up them being QB Whisperers comes from. I think they’re both still looking for that first great QB to have come from their tutelage.

I think this list is primarily about organizational stability and which teams have good offensive coaches. It’s kind of wild to see the McVay coaching tree dominating the top of the list, when the Chiefs, Eagles, Ravens and 49ers all have a proven track record of developing QBs into winners.

GB too...

Quinn and his staff did a great job with Daniels as well.

We can pick nits about developing, but development is maximizing a QBs production in your offense.  Jared Goff played really well in McVay's system, led them to a Super Bowl.  Won a Super Bowl with gun slinger Stafford.  KOC had Cousins on track for an MVP season before he blew his Achilles.  Had Darnold reach statistical production he's never sniffed at any point in his career.  I'm confident he'll do the same with McCarthy. I guess I look at development as having a good structure in place to maximize a QBs production.

You forget Jared Goff's early success with McVay?
Within his first year, McVay turned a Rams team that had the league's lowest scoring offense the previous year into the top-scoring team of 2017 (with Goff). The season also marked the Rams' first winning record (with Goff) and division title since 2003 and first playoff appearance since 2004. Over the following seasons, McVay led the Rams to an appearance in Super Bowl LIII in 2018 (with Goff) and a victory in Super Bowl LVI in 2021 (with Stafford).
