So the guy who went to Northern Iowa, couldn't make an NFL roster for his first 4 years, played in the arena league while working at a grocery store and then finally got a backup job doesn't believe in Sam despite going to USC and being the #2 pick in the draft and playing in the league since and is now having a MVP like year?  Ok Kurt, how about taking a look in the mirror of where you came from.  Sounds like Kurt is jealous of someone else becoming a great redemption story.

Right? Recency bias? To me, what’s even more laughable is the notion that QBs always will be what they’ve always been.

This coming from a QB who spent 6 years bouncing between the NFL, NFL Europe, the Arena leagues and your local Hy-Vee stock room, before finding success on a team with a great offense, play caller and weapons. Drew Brees spent 3 years struggling in San Diego before finding success. Rich Gannon, Geno Smith, Baker Mayfield.  It’s not like there aren’t several examples.

Personally, I think Brock Purdy’s down year is due mostly to missing Aiyuk and McCaffrey, so I don’t think the 49ers will, or should, cast him aside for Sam Darnold. But this side-swipe at Darnold is misplaced.

I know, me too...It feels sustainable with this surround and KOC as HC. Not a 1 year wonder. 

Honestly, having JJM curate another year isnt the end of the world. Its not like he had a regular rook season to curate, he didnt. Virtual reality aint game play. 

Next 4 games

That would be the perfect scenerio.  Get JJM another year to learn, keep the magic going with KOC and Sam.  Although I see occasional weak lapses in Sam's game, he is doing a great job running the offense.

Market on Purdy is 50-55 mil? They market on Darnold is 30-35? In todays NFL that seems like a no brainer
