#1
Probably the most physical middle linebacker in the history of the NFL

Shows you how much the NFL changed the  game.
in the days Butkus played the middle linebacker was built to stop the run.  Today the middle line backer better be able to cover the pass.  We’ve seen the necessity for a mobile quarterback, the tight end change from mainly blocking and short passing roll to help stretch the field as a receiver, and the reduction of the running back roll.

On side kicks and kick-off returns are being phased out.  It will be interesting to see what the NFL looks like in another ten years. We’ve already seen the Dolphins score seventy points in one game this year.

Too young to have watched him, but he was someone always referenced in football at any level. Love watching the older eras when he played.

I started watching NFL games right at the end of his career.  I remember my dad telling me what a beast Butkus was.  Watching these clips of him shows it too.  I aways enjoyed his Miller Light commercials though.  RIP big man.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRT-toIEqag
