Sometimes stuff just doesn't get much press...

—Brett Favre couldn’t have been more approachable and accommodating at the Morrie Miller Athletic Foundation banquet in Winona, Minn., last weekend. The hall of fame former Packers-Vikings QB, flown in by private jet from his home in Hattiesburg, Miss., entertained a sellout audience of 320 during a question and answer event and golf tournament that raised $410,000 — easily the most during the foundation’s 20-year history benefiting Winona area youth athletics. Favre made sure that every person at an opening reception seeking a photo with him got one.
Favre, 53, walks gingerly these days after multiple football surgeries but is lucid and a terrific storyteller. While in town on Saturday, Favre and former Packers teammate Gilbert Brown conducted a football camp for 80 youngsters and coaches just before Winona State’s victory over Concordia-St. Paul. The next day, he was flown to Emporia, Kan., to prepare for deer hunting season.
—Pssst: By the way, people who know say Farve wanted to play for the Vikings following his final season in Green Bay (2007), but the Packers refused to trade him within the division. So he had to spend a year with the Jets. Gus Frerotte and Tarvaris Jackson were the Vikings’ QBs for the 2008 season.

The benefit made 400k, but they then had to pay Favre a million for his appearance fee =)

Not sure Favre should be getting any kind of press for a charity event after his involvement in the welfare scandal, which most people would be in jail for. Easily the worst guy to ever play in purple.

No that would be serial rapist Darren Sharper but Favre is a POS for taking money from the poor.

Off the field stuff aside that’s sad the article says he’s walking gingerly. Not surprising I suppose but these guys really take a beating. Hopefully he can get surgery or do some yoga or whatever to get better mobility.

I thought that whole thing was being investigated?

I have a couple of older Viking players as customers and boy, it is painful to see them walking around in their 70's/80's.
