This is quite the development. Probably not good for the game, but can anyone with a straight face blame any of them for taking this kind of money?? It's insane the money being thrown around. Honestly, what doesn't get discussed is that golf really isn't that popular as a televised event. In fact, their ratings flat out suck unless Tiger is playing. If a star like Mickelson is there on the last day, the ratings get a bump. So many people in the golf media upset about this LIV tour but really....is anyone in the forest to hear the tree fall? The Masters and other big events like the U.S. Open do well comparatively but golf is the kind of thing you turn on (if you are watching) and leave it on in the background while you either nap or pop in and out while doing other things.
