To answer your question, PT (PurpleThoughts -- Scout forums, from where most migrated) had some pretty ridiculous  
"banned words".   Some were obvious (f-bomb), others were head-scratchers. 
When this site started, the new admins/creators just let the expletives be allowed to fly.  





 That said, I'm with you. Vulgarity is no substitute for wit.
