I don't think you can do a movie like the original again without it being more contrived and less realistic. And to MB's point, you are tricking people that are less sophisticated, why is that a big victory somehow? Its a little mean spirited. And when its not, its likely less than authentic.

I actually didn't think it was that mean spirited. I was expecting much worse, like they tried hard to pack an agenda in. There obviously was one, but it wasn't forced. Nobody came across as repugnant, just dumb (to your point). It was just silliness.
