Good for him... both the signing and moving back to RT. Last year proved he is not a guard.

This way they can move on from Eli. He'll be lucky to be walking come October.

Yeah, Remmers's agent kind of slammed the Vikings by saying his client, 'is back at his natural position at RT'.

Happy to announce that Mike Remmers just agreed in principle to a deal with the New York Giants and is looking forward to moving back to his natural position of right tackle. His last 2 seasons playing that position he helped his teams to a Super Bowl and a NFC Championship game.

Remmers is just ok at RT,  speed killed him and it wont get better with age.  If he was a quality RT the Vikes would have left him there and looked for interior help in the draft.  They thought he would be better inside....they were wrong.

Remmers isn't even average at right tackle so this is just his agent doing his job, But the other side of that coin is the Vikings believe they can shuffle lineman around to play multiple positions and have a good line. Not a lot of evidence to support that theory.

The Vikings may not be alone in this, but they sure seem to lack organizational intuition when it comes to the OL.

Hopefully the people Zimmer brought in changes this for the better...

I'm actually optimistic about the line. Elf tried playing without the benefit of off-season while recovering from two surgeries. I expect his play, whether it's a G or C, to return to form. Reiff was nicked up all year so I expect him to play better as well. Unless ONeil does a Kalilesque back slide, we are at least OK in three positions. Now, if the talent infusion via the draft and fa performs, we should be at least I'm here and ok is a far sight better than what we had last year.

I would agree. I think Compton and Remmers may have been addition by subtraction! The depth should also be better. The key for me is how Kline performs or whether Samia is ready start from season one. Samia has bulked up a bit, so who knows?
