I'll have to check out that thread; thanks! I guess I've been glossing over most threads, because they just seem like opportunities to vent (which we all need after the way the team has played recently). But rather than talking about who sucks... I'd rather talk about what other teams have done to have success against us- and what we can do with the personnel that we have to have success, too.
The Patriots didn't seem to do anything all that "exotic". If I were to guess, their gameplan was probably more basic than JDF's. But they executed what they were doing... and we didn't. Sometimes I wonder if it's just a matter of time: they have been in the same "system" (although not always running the same plays) for a long time. We've been through 3 OC's in the past- what- 3 years? There's no way to know now... but I wonder how our offense would look in 2 years if JDF was still our OC. Would we (then) be able to execute the plays? When it came to Norv, it just seemed like his plays didn't fit our (lack of) personnel. Then Shurmur comes along... and our offense (for the most part) was hitting on all cylinders. Was that because of Shurmur... or players? Maybe Shurmur just did a better job at finding what our players could do successfully- and went from there?
I just hope that Kevin (I'm not going to try to spell his last name) is able to get something out of our offense. I don't think we have to be multiple; we just have to be able to execute well.
