I scouted this guy. He was a favored broken play target of Lamar Jackson. Seemed to have a knack for getting open and making YAC. I don't think his reported 40 time is accurate at 4.85. He's a little more explosive than that when healthy. I saw good hands and sneaky playmaking ability. He may stick around for a bit.
I thought Tyler Conklin got bad looks in the preseason, and not much of a chance to show what he could do - always had somebody taking him out at the knees before he could secure the ball, or was dealing with terrible ball placement from his QB. Was this a hedge in case the draft pick doesn't pan out? I noticed Josiah Price is out as the 4th TE.
I also saw Bucky Hodges was a weekend casualty out of Steeler's Camp. He looked like a monster late in the last preseason game against The Panters, but The Panters were just too tough with Tyler Heineke manning the ship. B)
