Jerry Jones ideas for NFL schedule

Here is my proposal:

Only 2 preseason games.  Teams can do more joint practices, if they want, for evaluation purposes.

Add a second bye week.  More rest to keep players healthy.

A 17 game schedule.  All teams play 1 neutral site game.  That gives the NFL 16 games to be played at these neutral sites to expand the fan market without watering down the league by adding more teams.  It also doesn't interrupt home scheduling for only a few teams a year.

I'm also on board with the added playoff team.  7 per conference is fine.  Why should the second best team in each conference earn a bye?

No need to change the length of the season (the 17th game and second bye week essentially use the removed 2 preseason games), fans get the opportunity to travel to neutral site without impacting the number of home games, more rest for players and no second best rewards while also keeping more fan bases involved in the late season.
I dunno.  With 16 games, it's pretty balanced between divisions and conferences.  For the 17th game, who plays whom?  and 16 neutral site games?  Every year?  Wow.

...although I do want the Vikings to play in Iceland.  Smile

get rid of the short week games, thursday football needs to be eliminated.  also in the name of fairness.... have teams coming off byes face teams coming off byes,  its rediculous that a team coming off a bye gets 2 weeks to prepare for a game when their opponents have essentially 5 days.  no reason that they cant have 8 bye weeks set up with 4 teams each bye week and schedule them so that they play each other the next week.   IMO the post bye week match ups are another way for the league to dictate outcomes.
I wouldn't miss the Thurs game one bit. Since I already miss it almost all them anyhow.
Thursday games are a travesty...Hate em.
