This is why I love Belichick

Asked during a Thursday press conference whether it’s important for you to come up with ways for players to feel like they’re enjoying themselves as they’re putting in the work that you ask them to put in,” Belichick was characteristically blunt.
“We feel what’s important to us is to win,” Belichick said. “So that’s really what we’re trying to do.”

Yeah Yeah...he's great. I still dont like him. Grouchy bastage. I think many will say he's the greatest ever. I wouldn't argue too much against it. There's always the different eras different game thing people bring up. My only knocks on Belichick are,  he wasn't ever that great before Brady.  Together they have been dominating in the cap era. That's hard to do. Unless you have a Brady and a plan. One without the other wouldn't be the same.
He and Brady have had the tremendous advantage of playing in a terrible division. They rack up easy wins against inferior rivals to get home field in the playoffs. They're road AFCC record is not that impressive. Have they ever had to get to the Super Bowl as a wild card? Rarely have they had to play a road playoff game. When they do use their home field advantage to get there. They're .500 on the neutral field. Guys like Bill Walsh 3-0 and Chuck Noll  4-0 never lost one. Joe Gibbs was 3-0 with 3 different QB's. That's damn impressive. Simply being there more then anyone else isn't enough to say he's the greatest. To me at least. Did I mention I don't like him or his smug personality? Maybe I didn't need to...lol.

Agreed. Really what Belichick is saying to any attempt to tarnish the Patriots by the media is, 'I've been to 8 Superbowls and won 5, so you can really just kiss my @ss'. He's got that kind of juice and does it all the time. That was a stupid question and a great answer.

In a league where wins are so valued and important, nobody does it like this guy. His process and football intelligence is unmatched. I know he's got Tom Brady, but can anyone say with a straight face that Brady would be in this kind of stratosphere without Bill Belichick? Hell no. The older I get, the more I respect that guy. Just win, the rest is bullshit, really, and just gets in the way.

I agree with sticky. I should have put a disclaimer on my previous post. That I really just don't like him or all the alleged(s) that surrounds that team. Hate makes you stupid..lol.

So here is my disclaimer.

Just so it clear. I'm a jealous idiot.

"Grouchy bastage?"  I guess that's why I like him so much: we're twins! (And that makes me incredibly narcissistic, I guess...  B) )
