You are right by that Jimmy. If he is still struggling, it may not be a full Teddy comeback. Which is sad.
I'm really intrigued to hear Geoff's knowledge of our "interest" in Cousins. The highest we may go, what Flip is truly looking for in a QB. What we have here compared to Cousins and is it worth the extra $$$ for Flip's O? Is there a Rookie that we could potentially grab or even Sloter that may have Flip's interest over shelling out the $$ for Cousins or the limits that Keenum has if Teddy still isn't healed.... this last tidbit open's up a lot.

But it wouldn't surprise me if Teddy comes back as the #2 with a promise of an open competition with whomever they sign, be it Case, Sam or someone else.

Why would a QB sign here knowing Teddy gets to compete with him? Same reason they take short term deals: the willingness to bet on yourself that you will beat him out, perform and get a long term deal.

Denver is the Wildcard. Minnesota won't overpay for Cousins, there are enough flaws that echo some of Keenum's shortcomings (deep ball accuracy, bad decision-making that leads to turnovers, holding the ball too long) that will prevent them from offering close enough to what the Jets will.

Does Horse Face empty the holster for Kirk? If not, do they make Case an offer he can't refuse?

I'm betting the silence around Sam is Rick being Rick. The smoke is around Cousins and Keenum. But once the dominoes start falling I bet he inks Sam to a deal that is more than we think but with a quick out ala Glennon and Teddy gets more time to heal physically and mentally.

Why mentally? He's going to be pretty upset that his agent was wrong about the market for him.

My preference is still Cousins. But he's going to command more than he's worth as a mid-level or maybe even low-level Tier 2 QB.

Sam and Teddy is a nice consolation prize while we see if all the QB Whisperers on the staff can develop Sloter.
