Realizing that JJ was as fragile as a china doll. That was disappointing after waiting for him to recover from his meniscus surgery. 

But the truly disheartening thing was how poor his fundamentals were. Seems like he’ll need to be rebuilt from the ground up. His parents should demand a refund from the IMG Academy.

I don't think I would go to that extreme. A few of the most impressive throws I saw last year by any QB in the NFL were thrown by JJ McCarthy. If you need to tweak his mechanics to develop some consistency and prevent some of those wildly inaccurate easy throws, then go for it. But what he needs most is just time, maturity and a one-way ticket out of his head. I think this year on the bench will do him some good.
