So much scrutiny for a successful QB

Jalen Hurts: the guy is 57-25 as a starter. I'm 100% convinced its mostly because he's not dynamic or exciting enough, just workmanlike. Accomplished alot already at 27 years old.

That's a lot of words in that article, mostly skimmed.

People just like their QBs to sling the ball all over the place or run like Vick.

I do agree that Hurts is pretty workmanlike.  I don't think he's elite or anything, but if there ever was a team that could consistently win with an upper mid QB just doing his job, the Eagles are it.  There will be challenges when you are flipping your OC every other year.

Per Cowherd.. rumors swirling he has a little Russell Wilson vibes going on. Coach asking him to do things he refuses.. tense relationships..

Yeah, this pretty much sums it up for me about Hurts:

"Poor body language, not always bought in, not the most coachable and the players notice," a team source said.

I truly cannot stand him.  He's a solid QB, but he's an arrogant dick, IMO.  He is all about himself.  Further, he plays for the biggest loser fanbase in all of sports, so he fits right in.

I far prefer a player and person like Barkley to a player and person like Hurts.

Well, he looks like he's not having fun playing...Looks bored to me

But he's a good QB and Philly surrounded him with a great team.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

When he was running they were good on offense but he's been less willing to do it which might be part of the conflicts, along with Brown being mad at him.  May have to do with them cycling through OC's.  His career arc to me looks a little like it could mirror Colin Kaepernick's minus the theatrics.  Successful runner who ages out of that but can't get the passing game mastered.

I was hoping we'd trade for this guy at the start of the offseason. Not surprised louder rumblings are coming out now in the runup to the draft. Hard to see him being moved or really, anything coming of this anytime soon, but if things go pear shaped in Philly next year this will be the top story.

The AJ Brown stuff is really strange too because aren't/weren't he and Hurts BFFs? Yet he's been vocally frustrated with his role for a few years now. Pretty great football team. Odd locker room dynamics.

We read this, hear rumblings about that, blah blah blah. A NFL locker room or training facility is just like any office space: it has whiners, complainers, back stabbers and ass kissers. But the Eagles will probably be right there again fighting for the NFCC game this season when its all said and done.
