Paul Allen Controversy

I'm not a Paul Allen fan to begin with, just from a pure sports broadcaster perspective. I'm fine with him being a homer, that's kind of pare for the course for every NFL radio team. I'm good with the passion. I just don't think he's very good at what he does. He's consistently late calling the action live. And he's corny.

This particular thing? Its his opinion....but he should have kept his mouth shut. But these are the times in which we live in.

I'm over Allen and would love to have someone new and fresh. But these guys can hang on for decades too.

Many individuals in the spotlight screwed themselves over by opening up about political topics. Hank Williams Jr. comes to mind...he lost his Monday Night Football music gig over political comments. The landscape is littered with them.

Sports are an opiate for the masses, a good diversion and can unite people from all walks of life...

It's always too bad when politics brings its awful stench to the sports world.

I think I'm at the point where I believe there's so much misinformation out there, that I think everyone is just wrong about so many things that I don't have much patience for people that put themselves on a pedestal where they think they are right and try to villify the other tribe. At some point we need to escape the trap of dividing ourselves into two different groups that fight with each other, and accept that we're all going to be wrong and say dumb shit from time to time, but how do we recenter on the things we agree about and try to work together and make society better.

Totally agree that media personalities shouldn't be expressing political opinions as it just kills their brand.
