Hopefully KOC hasn't spent as much time "fixing" Brosmer's mechanics as he did JJM's
Never understood the logic of "unteaching" something that has taken years to develop. So I guess our "Organization is failing young QB's" now too huh?

Yeah, the complete rewiring comment seemed odd as well.  Trouble is, I think JJ bought in to all the coach speak.  Perhaps the Vets filtered out some of that garbage and took the obvious good that KOC brings to the QB coaching.  But JJ went all in and has scrambled his brain, mechanics and everything trying to be the perfect pupil.

There are many details to coaching, lots of stuff in the footwork and minutia, but there is also talent and years of work put in already.  Some guy have bad habits that need to be eliminated, but some habits may just need to be tolerated (Randall McDaniel?).  Wondering if KOC tore JJ down to establish the basics, but didn't realize putting him back together would be so difficult.

Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy is in the concussion protocol after reporting symptoms during the Vikings’ travel home from Green Bay, Wis., on Sunday, coach Kevin O’Connell announced in his standard Monday news conference.

McCarthy’s availability for the Vikings’ trip to Seattle to face the Seahawks next Sunday is unclear.

O’Connell said it was “too early” to say if undrafted free agent and former Gopher Max Brosmer would start against the Seahawks, but that he will run the first-team practice while McCarthy is in the protocol.

“With how the practice week is gonna go … there’s a timeline there where I think first and foremost we’ll make the decision through the eyes of the medical professionals — not only our staff, but the independent folks — it’s a medical thing first and foremost,” O’Connell said. “Then I do think, then at that point, once we see where we’re at in the week and what it’s looked like preparation-wise, then we can make a football decision.

But until then I look at it clearly as a medical decision.”

The Vikings will have a short practice Thursday due to Thanksgiving and longer practices Wednesday and Friday.

McCarthy was evaluated Sunday night at TCO Performance Center after the Vikings returned from their 23-6 loss to the Packers in Green Bay. O’Connell declined to discuss the degree of McCarthy’s symptoms, deferring to medical staff.

O’Connell said the team, including McCarthy himself, had not yet pinpointed a specific play the concussion may have been sustained on. McCarthy was sacked five times in the loss.
