The Vikings' two losses....
#1
Atlanta 3-2, Pittsburgh 4-1. Dare I dream Minnesota might not suck? Or is that the delusional ol' scarred up fan in me that can't get it through his thick head he can't have nice things? And couple that with the rumor JJ might be out a few more weeks? Ugh. I think its a me issue.  Dodgy

It has enough talent that it's not going to totally suck regardless.  But it's a giant question mark at the most important position.  And the HC is seriously lacking strategic chops and won't get out of his own way at times.

I see it as more of the same that 20 years of the Wilf ownership has delivered-a team that can be a little above average over the long haul but is not built to win playoff games or titles.

I don't think record is a very good indicator of how good teams are. Especially this early, especially this year. I think it's likely the Vikings are a completely different team in December.

To small a sample size to extrapolate any solid conclusions IMO. Another 4 weeks should really start to separate the wheat from the chaff.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

I'm with Jimmy and Maroon - it's never too early to speculate, but its way too early to reach any conclusions!

Despite our QB and injury issues, the Vikings are positioned decently at the moment.

Our issue regarding any playoff possibilities is that the North is looking like an absolute gauntlet.

Watched Drake Maye highlights this am. He had all day to throw. I'm confident JJ can do the same.
Given all the injuries, suspension, and goofy schedule, there appears to be a lot of potential upside.
I'm more worried about the defense than the offense right now, but feel they will be a pretty decent team by the end of the year.

I think he can as well, but will the line give him that chance? Jaxson Dart also has all day to throw.

I'll put it this way. the assumption JJ was placed in the best situation for a young QB turned out to be a fallacy, in fact, a bit of a nightmare.
Vikings attempt to fix their O-line failed. They are actually worse. I don't know how much they will improve as they get healthy, but the Darrisaw addition alone has helped a good deal. I expect a fair amount of improvement  as the season progresses and better QB play should be the result.

That's an offensive line that really shouldn't be as good as ours when ours is healthy. They've got a 1st round rookie playing well at LT, a 3rd round rookie at LG who's not playing well. Bradbury in the middle who's been who he's always been: average. And then a couple of league average players on the right who are playing well.

What gives me hope is that our line should eventually be healthy, and when McCarthy had time against Chicago and Atlanta, he was actually pretty good.
