The Good and Bad of JJM at Training Camp
#1
Apparently it hasn't been all wine and roses at training camp. I'm not going to get too alarmed over this because 1, defenses are always ahead of offenses this early in camp. And 2, this promises to be a very good Brian Flores defense.

Once the pads came on, however, McCarthy and the entire Vikings offense have struggled to move the ball. During one eight-play sequence of starters versus starters, the offense gained positive yards only once.

Working against a defense that has unleashed its full arsenal of blitzes and coverage disguises, McCarthy's accuracy has been inconsistent, particularly in the red zone. He has led receivers out of bounds and thrown high to a number of open targets running along the back line.

The defense should be that way. It is the best front 7 in football. I would guess KOC has told Flores to throw the sink at these guys. It will only get them better and they won't see anything like it from other teams.

I've always said this year will be a learning curve, not sure how it couldn't be. He missed reps and games last year, hell even just throwing the football. Has never taken a live snap in a NFL game. He's 22 years old....Jayden Daniels will be 25 in December. If you're surprised by this as a fan your expectations were too high or you got caught up in the hype. Also the offensive line has yet to even get close to both gelling or guys like Fries and Darrisaw being 100%. And oh yeah, that BFlo D.

We all know I'm his #1 hype man and I'm 100% all in on JJ McCarthy being a franchise QB in Minnesota. But you gotta let the kid crawl then run, he's not even out of the crib yet until MNF in September. Its unrealistic to think there won't be ups and downs most of the season. Just hang in there Viking Nation, he's The One.

I agree with this. However, I think it will be more like a fast walk and then let him run. I think JJ is way past the point of just crawling. JJ is the ONE. There is no disputing that IMO. I made a choice starting last year to start grabbing JJ's rookie cards of different variations and high end. As an investment. Well, now I am about 10k into them. It helped me that he didn't play last year. Got his stuff for pennies. An investment that could and I believe should turn into 10 times what I have invested. So, he is the ONE lol
