Vikings to Wear Helmet Decal Honoring Jim Marshall
#1

In his opening comments, Wilf also mentioned two Vikings Legends and announced the team plans to wear a helmet decal this season in honor of 14-time captain Jim Marshall, who passed away June 3 at age 87.

"No player in this team's history lived the ideals of toughness, camaraderie, passion and leadership more than Jim. He was a quiet but effective leader," Wilf said. "In our minds, he's the greatest captain in NFL history, and there is no question he also belongs in the Hall of Fame for what he accomplished over his 20-year career.

"We plan to honor Jim with a helmet decal throughout the 2025 season and are working on plans to recognize him and his family during Legends Weekend when we face the Bengals in September," Wilf added.

The Wilfs sure know what they are doing culture wise with the team. It isn't hard, but some owners just don't get it. Play in the now, build for the future, but remember the past.

RIP to the rock of the PPE.

Glad the Wilfs are honoring Marshall. It would have been preferred to honor Jim while he was still alive. He lived to be 87, a nice thing to do but maybe honor these great Vikings while they can appreciate the recognition.
