I suspect Josh Allen didn't have this kind of supporting cast in his first couple years in Buffalo.
Shady McCoy was on that first year roster. But the leading rusher was Allen his rookie year. And Zay Jones (?) was the leading receiver, but with only 652 yards. It took the Buffalo coaches more than a year to fix his awkward sideways delivery.

His second season, he dropped down to third in rushing yardage. Devin Singletary and Frank Gore were the Bills 1-2 punch, but neither with 1,000 yards. But he did have a 1,000 yard receiver that second year (John Brown).

The Bills were 6-10 his rookie year and improved to 10-6 his sophomore season and made the playoffs as a Wild Card (lost that game).
His third year they went 13-3 and lost the Conference Championship game.

That third year (2020) was Diggs first year with the Bills.

I wouldn't trade JJ for Allen. That is how much I believe in McCarthy

I mentioned many moons ago that JJM reminded me of Josh Allen lite. He's got the same energy as Phillip's mentions on the field, will make plays with his arm and feet, throw for a completion with his left hand if a defender is trying to pull him down by his right, that kind of thing. JJ has that easy confidence of being a high level athlete. He's not intimidated by pressure situations.

Someone compared him to Joe Burrow and I can’t unsee it. Maybe it’s the number.
