Danny Dimes to make his decision....

Like which one gets you a better shot at getting to be a long term starter and big money?  I feel like theres some hope there with KOC as your coach that you probably don’t get with Indy.  Indy you’re sliding into the long term backup path probably, but with the Vikings you’re probably not seeing the field.

Maybe KOC will give Dimes a nice diploma with his name on it as a graduate that he can put on his LinkedIn profile for FA 2026 and show teams.

The contract numbers for him are really hard to predict, Fields just got 2 years 40 million and I would consider Jones more accomplished, would think he has to get a minimum 2 years 20-30, although he may want to do like Darnold and take a one year deal. I would be surprised if the Vikes let Mullens walk for a very reasonable deal if they did not feel confident with signing Jones.

Confident people have been wrong before *shrug*.

Jimmy Garappolo on a 2 year deal, please.

EDIT- Lol crud, Rams signed Jimmy G. Of course they did. Hmm...

3-13 in his last 16 starts may hold his price down somewhat…  Cool Angel  Although the Giants have been terrible.

I wouldn’t go crazy on a Danny Dimes contract. I don’t think he’ll have much of a chance against JJ in a competition. So at this point, he’s a backup for us and what is the most you pay for a decent backup? $10-15 million maybe at most?

It would take a major collapse over several games for KOC to pull JJ. Richardson may not even beat out Jones in training camp. And even if he does, AR's on thin ice as a starter.

So it's pretty clear Jones' best chance to start is in Indy. But if he goes there, his career probably stays on its current trajectory (low and flat) and he becomes yet another on a long list of failed QBs. In Minnesota he can keep rebuilding himself in KOC's image and have a solid shot at a big payday next March. Plus, there's always the chance, gods forbid, JJ gets hurt and DJ can come in and show what he's learned.
