Leaderboard Stats: it's no wonder
#1
Through yesterday's 14th win of the season, we have a pretty good body of work to evaluate this team and key individuals.

Darnold:
#3 in passing yards (4,153, behind only Burrows and Mayfield)
#4 in TDs (35, behind Burrows, Mayfield and Jackson)
#5 in QBR (behind Jackson, Goff, Burrows and Mayfield)
#9 in completion % (68.1, ahead of Mahomes, Jackson, Stafford and many others)

Receiving
JJets #2 at 1,479 yds (behind Bengals Chase)
Addison #31 at 875 yds (just ahead of Bengals other WR Higgins)

Rushing
Jones at #10

Sacks
#4 Van Ginkel at 11.5
#8 Greenard at 11

Int's
#2 (tie) Murphy at 6 (he had an outstanding game vs Packers BTW and he is #8 in Passes Defensed)

Team stats/Offense:
Total offense:  #12 in total yards
Passing:  #4
Points/game:  #9

Team stats/Defense:
Run Defense:  #2 (only Ravens are slightly better, and we are slightly better than Detroit...same ballpark though)
Points given up:  #5
Yards given up:  #17 (we're 29th in Pass Defense before yesterday's Packer game...which offsets a dominant run defense)

Vikings have the pieces to make a run in the playoffs. Typically the teams with a top 10 offense and Top 10 scoring defense are the ones who advance. It's about being strong on both sides of the ball and playing complimentary football.

Darnold now has 4,153 passing yards, becoming the fifth 4,000-yard passer in Vikings franchise history joining Daunte Culpepper, Warren Moon, Kirk Cousins and Brett Favre.

Darnold’s 35 touchdown passes have tied Cousins’ 2020 for the second highest single-season mark, behind only Culpepper’s 39 in 2004.
