Hochenson Injury And Joe Buck Comment
#1
I have heard that when Hochenson went down with an obvious injury and KOC told him to go down, that Joe Buck was insinuating that KOC was telling him to fake an injury.

My thought at that time was as in a previous game (in which KOC mishandled our timeouts) Bradbury had tried to get up and play resulting in the time clock running down and the Vikings calling a time.

Therefore my belief at the moment was KOC had seen this scenario before and was telling Hochenson to get down if he was injured and the refs would call an injury time out.  Joe Buck, in his ever present wisdom (as shown during the Randy Moss payback mooning to the Packers at Lambeau) and not really knowing what was going on, took it that KOC was wanting Hochenson to fake an injury for some reason.

Thoughts?

I heard a coach weigh in on this and he thought what KOC did was exactly what he should have done. If he were telling an uninjured player to go down, that's different. Hockenson was clearly hurt and KOC didn't want him to burn valuable time by hobbling off the field.

I thought it was Aikman who said it, but of course Buck agreed. They were both “lip reading,” you see.

Doesn’t matter who said it, I guess. They are the 2 heads on 1 stupid animal.

The thing that really pissed me off was fool Aikmans snarky comment when Hockinson went down in the fourt quarter.  Buck to his credit wasn't stupid enough to respond to it and I think Aikman was left with egg on his face.
