What separates him, other than his amazing intangibles and football smarts, is his uncommon strength for his size. I get that many thought it might not translate to the NFL. He's just a dense piece of iron with a will to match.

It's John Randle or Antoine Winfield syndrome.

The measurables don't match the norm of other players.

Yet when the game starts and none of that matters. Whatever they lack in measurables they make up for with desire.

They're typically really smart, they hyper develop their technique, they maximize their quickness and just somehow figure it out in such a way to where they can just play.

Gonna be fun to watch.

I think Asamoah and Hicks start the opener but Pace will get a lot of snaps and eventually work his way into the starting lineup in a few weeks.

FYI: None of our best UDFAs were full time starters right away. Randle started 0 games his rookie season, 8 in year two. Thielen started 2 games his rookie season, 2 games year two. Robert Griffith wasn't a starter until his 3rd season.

Unrelated, but even more bizarre: Justin Jefferson didn't start until week 3. Randy Moss week 6.

Reed had 4 straight 1,000-yd seasons when Moss was drafted.  This wasn't Bisi Johnson that Moss was jumping on the depth chart  :p

Yeah, Reed was the greatest "shoulda been a TE" WR we ever had.

Kidding aside, Jake was a stud NFL WR, so it wasn't really a shock that Moss took a few games to break out.
