Vikings’ HC Kevin O'Connell told reporters today that TE Irv Smith, who underwent thumb surgery earlier this summer, is on track to play in Week 1.

he will make the whole game, but will be limited in practice the following week and be a game time decision at best for week 2.

Irv has something to prove! Stay on the field! Rooting for him.

Hope he can stay on the field this season

Breakout season might be just being able to get on the field for 17+ games. 

He is looking like glass at this point but let's hope he stays healthy and reaches some of the hype that seems to follow him, at least on here. 

He is not a great blocker, is not the biggest or fastest TE around but he is still young so hope springs eternal.

I haven't seen anything special from him even when healthy, but I sure hope I do soon.
