Also, the # of unvaccinated players named as captain may send a bad message.

I know it bugged me.

why not?  the C shouldnt be determined by position,  we have no idea who the emotional leaders are in that locker room,  if it happens to be a fullback,  then he deserves that C.  I would say its better for him to have one because of leadership than the ones that are assigned by position like starting QB or most tenured LB that most teams do when those playes may not be very good teammates or leaders at all.
Him getting the C tells me that he is a respected leader on the team.
I would completely agree with both of you… if half the other starters weren’t also named Captain.

If we had 1 maybe 2 Captains total and Ham was one, that’d be something. Having 8 sort of devalues the role in my opinion. As does having one of the 8 be a fullback. As does having a bunch of unvaccinated players as caps.

From someone on the total outside, the locker room dynamics of the team this year just seem a little odd. Hopefully it all comes together, in a hurry (preferably this Sunday!).

He is a great representative of the team in the community. He is a leader maybe his style is understated but that's his way.

CJ Ham is a nice guy on and off the field.

As a player, checks all the boxes.

Watch how many Bengals he tunes-up this Sunday,  he's a bad ass.
