Nice filmwork on Dye. I’m thinking we are seeing the vikes attempting to adapt as the nfl changes-  If Dye and Surrat are the future at LB it prolly is due to offenses exploting the second level with speed. 

If that is correct, then it stands to reason you would have run stuffing fatties up front to protect these half safeties from Olineman. 

I like the idea but we will see if it works, both player eval and scheme

Interesting thought.  I agree, I think the two big guys up front are there to shut down the run and keep the smaller faster LBs clean.  They aren't there for glory, but to let others make plays.
