Well, its something to chew on....
The Chargers are 0-7.
Herbert, in truly bizarre fashion, is right there with Jones as the worst quarterback in the league. After six straight seasons with a passer rating of at least 93, he’s down at sub-McCarthy levels (69.3) with 5 TDs and a league-high 10 INTs.
It’s hard to wrap your head around how far he’s fallen this season.
Herbert has three years left after this one on his massive contract. If the Vikings were to trade for him, they’d be making a big bet that this year is an anomaly.
Even with his struggles, the Chargers would undoubtedly ask for multiple first-round picks. It’s difficult to see Teasley deciding to hitch the Vikings’ future to Herbert.”

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
I don't know. I am stuck. I want to hope that Murray can figure it out. But I saw a few clips with a buddy on the all 22 and I don't think the light will go on for Murray. He consistently is missing his 2-3 reads. He had time to get to them as well. His play is just simply bad. I don't see how there is any way he is putting in the right effort.
Herbert could be it. We have a defense that is elite, it would not sit well with me if KOC wastes that. I think Kirk is the most likely. It would take a 3rd if I had to guess.
I don't think Herbert is a midseason trade, but maybe one could be convinced in the offseason, especially if they continue their unexpected tanking. Listening to people talk about Herbert though, and you get things that suggest he's more of a slow processor though in a way that might not mesh with KOC's offense. Like they were saying things like "Waits to see the WR get open and then cannon it in there"
I think Kirk is the easiest answer. You know it "worked" in the past. You aren't taking a risk on an unkown. He's got a limited ceiling, but we're looking to raise the floor now. He's older and in the one year at a time part of his career.
The right thing might be to do the thing they won't do: trade for another starting QB1. It would be extremely teeth grinding to do and basically admit a wrong strategy midstream. Not sure how the team would react to it, hell the staff may not think its the right thing TO do. But Murray isn't going to magically improve IMO. At least not to any decent extent. The O-line is inconsistent and I don't think that changes either. They need a center and a new starting guard (which may be Huber for Fries in '27 and get Jackson back).
But do they want to waste this defense? I think that's the only X-factor that makes me not 100% believe it couldn't happen.....I'm at 95%. Wentz isn't the answer....but maybe they might think he'll supply just enough offense to keep wins coming. I think the odds are extremely long that it happens. I don't know how Teasley and KOC feel about Herbert and I don't know how the Charger's staff views this incoming crop of QBs for the Spring Draft.

I'm not sure they are ready to put Mendoza in yet?
They're 4/4 right now.
I still think trading for a QB is a huge long shot mid season. I mean, how many instances of it are there in history??

QB dilemma.. K1 is obviously not the answer, JJM gone, Wentz defiantly back up material. At this point cant see Vikings drafting a QB and starting them day one. Either take a plunge on a Vet or we stay in QB Quagmire for the next few years. UGH

I will, just finishing up some spreadsheets here at work to get through month end with commissions.
It is a huge longshot though. I get that. I think a 3rd might just get the Raiders to make the move. Unless they feel Kirk is really helping Mondoza behind the scenes, which I bet is more so the case, and they don't want to hinder that development. Then I would assume Kirk is priceless to them.

The only reason why I wont completely disregard a mid season trade for a qb is Teasley...I dont know what to expect from him yet; good or bad.
So far he's pissed me off trading McCarthy for a full-size Milky Way.

That I will say is on KOC. I won't put that on Teasley. At least at this point.
I think there's only really two pathways. You trade for Cousins, Mullens, or to a lesser extent Dimes. Guys that have been in the system before. Or you shoot for the moon and try to get a jumpstart on finding your franchise QB for next year. Like if you can somehow swing for a Herbert or Burrows (from offseason talk, but Bengals can't be trading him now).
Brutal.

Right now this offense on a drive by drive basis is the worst offense in football..
This Vikings offense is averaging 24 yards per drive" ~ @danorlovsky7 #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/zBKFhjpC7f
Realistically, Daniel Jones might be the only QB available that could improve us this year. The Colts would want a #1 pick for him though.
If Herbert was available which I highly doubt, it would be 2 first rounders to begin the conversations.

Election year in MN, especially this election, will always be a drag on an October month. We were a little behind about 94% of plan. Nothing crazy for an election year.
My girlfriend comes home about 3 weeks ago or so, mind you she does not vote, from Kwik Trip, I believe, and goes WTF? I am like what? She was like I just got yelled at to not vote because I am not wanted. I am like by who? It doesn't matter to that part. The lady was in an argument with the register girl about her card not working and that the worker was to blame for being who she was. My girl is like that doesn't make sense. My girl went to pay for the things for the lady and that is when she got on my girlfriend. The story is wild. Conclusion, my girlfriend is now voting tomorrow.
Lightening may not strike twice, but Titans had no intention of trading their #1 DT either...
Till they got an offer they couldn't refuse.
But sure, QB is a bit more coveted for franchises then DL.

That sucks, sorry to hear that...Glad she's getting out there and voting.

Cousins could be a good fit and I agree he may be the best option at this time (assuming a reasonable trade price and salary). Who is the third string QB for the Raiders? Is he ready to be the backup? If not, a Cousins trade is a definite NO for them.
Mullens is familiar with KOC offense as well and not afraid to toss the ball. More yards, more receptions, more points but also more INT's. I'd gamble with him rather than sticking with Murray! Disclaimer, there are several reasons why I am not a GM... LOL
