30. Minnesota Vikings (5–0): Arch Manning, QB, Texas

Manning’s season has been dreadful. Similarly to Moore, Manning would have been better off declaring for the 2025 draft last April. Sometimes having too much tape can be a bad thing. Clearly, Manning and the Texas coaching staff have been out of sync when it comes to making adjustments. However, NFL teams won’t forget about the upside Manning flashed in the final two months of last season. Expect one team to take a chance on him early. Perhaps Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell will roll the dice on the 6'4", 222-pound signal-caller. It’s not a given that Kyler Murray is the long-term option after a sluggish start for the offense, and he could also be a bridge quarterback for a year or two. Manning has completed 63.9% of his passes for 1,295 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions.

1). I hope we're sitting at 30 in the draft lol!

2). I dont think Arch will go into the 27 draft...He doesnt have to right?

  • I wouldnt if I were him. He needs more/better coaching.

  • Might need a change of scenery? Although that's a lot of NIL $$

If we’re at 30 or 32, it probably means Murray has a nice extension in his pocket.

30 would be rather heartbreaking IMO. Great record, losing in the NFCCG again.

Purely speculative but even if the team makes it to the NFCCG I don't think Teasley will hitch his future to Kyler.

A lot of football to be played before that decision has to be made, but I wouldn't rule it out. Because if we don't keep Kyler, it means another middling bridge QB.

He was expected to be the first overall pick, certainly top 5. He is not that now but that could still change - Texas could run the table, get into the playoffs, and win it all. If he can accomplish that, he may still go very early in the draft. But if he does not turn thing around dramatically, I suspect he will return to college, either at Texas or somewhere else. Would Miami want him? I think so.

But if he does enter the draft and is there when we are picking, I would not be surprised if we took him and sat him for a couple of years. He actually does have a lot of talent, but he is wildly inconsistent from game to game and even within a game. Is there any way to coach the crazy out of him? Is KOC the one to do that? That's all for Teasley to decide if and when the time comes.

If his last name was not Manning would he even be considered 1st round talent?

Also an option is that maybe Kyler wants to pick his coaching staff and figures that KOC isn’t the coach for him.  It's not a given that we just get to keep Kyler if we want. It's a two way street.
