🏈 WK 05 ~ GAME DAY vs SAINTS : #18 IN ~ #3 OUT

Another Vikings defensive masterpiece. I mean, that unit is on an entirely different level right now. Dictating all terms of the engagement, adjusting on the fly, making it very hard.

Will Reichard is now good from 55 yards, to pair with conversions from 54 and 40 yards earlier in the game, to give the Vikings a 2-score lead. He's now 15-for-15 on the season, including 5-for-5 from 50+.

Vikings 23, Saints 13. 7:01 Q4.

Man, this defense is freaking awesome!

Please, oh please, offense continue to gel and become a unit worthy of said defense.

I haven't been able to watch the whole game today, but seems the offense took some more positive steps today.

Another Byron Murphy Jr. interception, for good measure. The Saints' touchdown drive feels like a long time ago.

I think he did this today https://t.co/mNEWlLKKuk

And then Byron Murphy Jr. gets his second interception of the afternoon.

Another ho-hum dominant day for the Vikings' defense. https://t.co/3hO78SkOwc

VIKINGS WIN ~ 23-13

Observation #1 in MIN win vs N.O. – Finally, Kyler Murray showed how he can hurt you in the running game. Not only did he get yards, you could see a serious burst of speed to get him out of pass rush harms way.

— VikeFans (@VikeFans) October 11, 2026

Observation #2 in MIN win vs N.O. - Caleb Banks continues to show improvement in limited snaps. On a run he not only made a stop at the line, but the runner literally got not an inch more after Banks grabbed him – strength!

Observation #3 in MIN win vs N.O. - After the fumble by the Saints on the kickoff to open the 2nd half, I liked the trick play, but to a TE vs a WR? Then, on second down, KOC calls the obvious run up the middle, clearly setting up for the FG!

— VikeFans (@VikeFans) October 11, 2026

Observation #4 in MIN win vs N.O. - Kyler Murray on the TD to Justin Jefferson, this was a perfect pass over 3 defenders and great concentration by Jefferson to get it in a tight space. He finally trusted his receiver to make a play. It will get better.

— VikeFans (@VikeFans) October 11, 2026

Observation #5 in MIN win vs N.O. – The Saints did a nice job picking up the MIN blitzer today, and, when they did, they found seams in the zone. The NFL will start figuring this defense out, but today, they held up with good pass coverage.

— VikeFans (@VikeFans) October 11, 2026

Observation #6 in MIN win vs N.O. – I WAS WRONG! During the game, I dogged the D for giving up the a 15 play TD drive. Because the MIN O is so weak that it makes you feel the D is struggling cuz they have had to be almost perfect this year to keep opponents from scoring.

— VikeFans (@VikeFans) October 11, 2026

Observation #7 in MIN win vs N.O. - Somewhat unsung, but the best Viking defender in the open field is Blake Cashman. He plays with a good base and balance and does not get juked by the defender.
